Fall 2024 Cohen Children's Medical Center

Cohen Children’s Medical Center works tirelessly to help keep kids healthy, from premature babies to adolescents. Their 206-bed hospital opened in 1983 as the New York metropolitan area's only hospital designed exclusively for children. Today they are the largest provider of pediatric health services in New York state, serving 1.8 million children in Nassau, Suffolk, Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Staten Island and Westchester. In 2024, U.S. News & World ranked Cohen Children’s Medical Center the best children’s hospital on Long Island, and among the nation’s best hospitals overall.
Parents and caregivers of patients often spend hours, days, weeks, or even months of long nights at Cohen while their children receive the care they need. Commonly at short notice or with no time to go home, these caregivers often don't have access to the personal care and essential items that we all need to stay feeling our best.
That’s why Girls for Good’s drive for the Fall of 2024 is focused on creating personal care kits for caregivers at Cohen, and giving back to these hard working adults. We have created an Amazon Gift Registry, where we hope local team members can help donate the specific items for these care packages.

Result of Caregiver Drive

The Caregiver drive was completed and all of the items were given to Cohen Children's Medical Center. With the help of friends, family, and the Students for Social Responsibility club at my local high school we collected more than a dozen bags of essential items.
